5 Ways to Prep and Protect your Skin in Winter

1/2/2023

Skin Care Regimen For Harsh Winter Months
Keeping a good skin care regimen for harsh winter months is not only important for the health of your skin, but also for your overall appearance. Here are a few tips to help you maintain the best skin possible.

Exfoliation
During the colder months of the year, the cold air can strip your skin of moisture. It's also a good time to focus on exfoliation as part of your skincare routine.

Exfoliation can be done with a variety of tools. For example, a mesh cloth or a shower pumice stone can be used to get rid of dead skin cells. A chemical exfoliator will loosen bonds between dead skin cells. Chemicals such as alpha hydroxy acids, beta hydroxy acids and fruit enzymes are common ingredients in exfoliants.

While exfoliating can help improve skin tone and make room for fresh skin cells, it's not the only way to get a healthy looking complexion. In addition to exfoliating, you should also apply a hydrating moisturizer after you've finished.

While there is no perfect number for exfoliating your skin, the ideal is to exfoliate two to three times per week. This frequency will depend on your skin's needs and your doctor's advice.

Hydrating
Getting a good hydrating skin care regimen during the winter months is crucial. The temperature and dry air can wreak havoc on the skin. Dry skin can look dull and flaky. It can also lead to redness and cracked skin.

One way to keep your skin hydrated is to use a humidifier. Humidifiers help draw moisture from the air, and they can prevent dry skin.

Another way to keep your skin hydrated is to wear a moisturizer at night. A hydrating balm can seal in moisture, and it can also help protect your skin from the cold.

In the winter months, you may have to use a more potent moisturizer. If you have sensitive skin, it is best to go with a more gentle formula.

Vitamin C can also be helpful in your hydrating skin care regimen during the winter. This vitamin has a high antioxidant content, and it can counter the effects of pollution. Vitamin C also helps the skin break down discoloration.
Moisturizing
During the winter, your skin loses about 25 percent of its ability to retain moisture. This means that it is more likely to get dry and cracked. It also means that you should be more vigilant about taking care of your skin.

During the winter, you need to use skincare products that are specifically designed to keep your skin moisturized and protected. These products contain ingredients that restore fatty acids and lipids, which are important for maintaining the protective barrier of the skin.
The best moisturizers for dry winter skin contain three components. The first ingredient is an emollient. These are low-molecular-weight substances that work to help the skin's barrier function. Another ingredient is a humectant, which extracts water from the air. The final ingredient is a ceramide, which helps to strengthen the barrier against winter conditions.

Avoiding hot showers
During the cold winter months, it is important to avoid hot showers. This is because these baths can cause a number of skin issues, from itchiness to a thinning of the hair.

Taking a hot shower will also strip the skin of its natural oils. This will leave the skin dry and scaly.

It can also aggravate conditions like psoriasis and eczema. If you have any of these skin problems, make sure you speak to your doctor about treatments. They may prescribe a prescription cream.

Another way to avoid dry skin is to use a humidifier in your home. The moisturizing power of a humidifier will help replenish the moisture in your skin.

Another way to keep your skin moist is to shower using lukewarm water. This will help prevent the skin from drying out and help your hair shine.

Hand-washing
Using hand-washing as part of a skin care regimen in winter can be a good way to keep your skin healthy. Dry air can be particularly harsh on your skin, and you may be more prone to dryness during the winter. While there are many products on the market that can help, you may need to adjust your routine to prevent irritation and dryness.

Using warm water to wash your hands is a good way to keep them moisturized. Excessively hot water can strip your skin of its natural oils. Using a moisturizing soap and applying a hand cream are good ways to keep your hands from getting dry.

Bar soap is harsh on the skin, because it contains binders that have a high pH. These binders can aggravate your skin and disrupt the microbiome.

Introduction to Bach Flower Remedies

11/30/2022

Flower remedies, or Bach flower remedies, are solutions of flower material in water or brandy, with varying concentrations. The remedies were developed by Edward Bach, an English homeopath, in the 1930s.

Bach claimed that flower petals retain their healing properties even when they have been diluted. The dew on flower petals also retains its healing properties.

In 1912, Dr. Bach entered medical school and practiced conventional
medicine until 1919, when he joined the staff of the London Homeopathic Hospital.

During this time, he began using herbs in homeopathic remedies. He noted that his patients often exhibited certain personality traits. Bach believed that these characteristics were the primary causes of illness, which he tried to treat by using homeopathic remedies.

Bach's flower remedies have been proven effective in the treatment of mental and emotional disorders. He also endorsed the use of these treatments as a preventative measure.

One study examined the effectiveness of Bach's flower remedies on a 21-year-old Brazilian woman with a history of sexual abuse. This treatment involved a series of flower essences administered monthly for four months. The treatment showed results and the woman was able to pursue dating relationships.
Bach's flower remedies are dilutions of flower material in a solution of water and brandy. They were developed in the 1930s by Edward Bach, an English homeopath. Bach believed that the dew on flower petals retained healing properties. These remedies contain extreme dilutions of flower material.

Bach's flower remedies address emotional and psychological conditions such as fear, loneliness, over-sensitivity to influences, insufficient interest in one's present circumstances, and despondency.
Each flower remedy has a specific indication and is tailored to the patient. Although Bach didn't conduct scientific trials, the remedies are considered safe and effective.

Bach developed flower remedies. These remedies are used mostly by homeopathic practitioners in Britain. The ingredients used in Bach's flower remedies are cherry plum, clematis, impatis, rock rose, and star of Bethlehem.

Children can also benefit from Bach's flower remedies. A children's Bach Flower Rescue Remedy, for example, comes in a dropper bottle. Children can take this remedy to cope with stress and emotional issues. Children should mix a dropper of the remedy in water, and place it under the tongue. Another option is to apply a cream or spray.

Sleep tourism is becoming increasingly popular, as people look for ways to recharge their energy levels while traveling. Its benefits are many, and it offers a way to rejuvenate yourself before returning home.

The key to success is to choose a location that offers a good night's sleep.

Travel destinations and programming centered around a good night's sleep

Travel destinations and programming centered around sleep are growing in popularity as more people seek rejuvenating sleep.
While such travel is not new, some experts believe that the trend could become the next big travel trend.

Fortunately, there are already a variety of sleep-focused services available in many locations, including hotels, spas, and other accommodations. These accommodations and destinations can help travelers get the rest they need to stay refreshed and energetic throughout the day.

More hotels and resorts are making sleep a top priority. They tend to have special sleep program includes and other relaxation techniques, as well as nutrition insights and wellness screenings. Many hotels also offer a sleep tracking program that allows guests to check in on how much they slept during their stay.

Trends in sleep tourism

Sleep tourism is a growing industry. With about 50 to 70 million adults in the US suffering from some form of sleep disorder, this type of tourism is a welcome addition to the travel industry. Insomnia is the most common sleep disorder, and over 35 percent of adults report getting fewer than seven hours of sleep every day.

Hotels that offer sleep-focused experiences have been appearing across the globe for some time. Some of these hotels are innovative in their design and soundproofing techniques.
The concept of sleep tourism has changed from its original meaning of being an exotic destination or an open-bed safari camp.

Today, the term sleep tourism refers to vacations that provide the opportunity to get a good night's rest in a beautiful setting. In addition to the relaxation that sleep provides, sleep tourism also offers health benefits.

As a result, hotels are stepping up their efforts to provide better sleep for their guests. Studies have shown that better sleep in hotels results in happier, healthier, and more productive guests.
Some hotels are even making special in-room upgrades to make guest's stays more pleasant. In addition to thoughtful amenities, some even host sleep retreats, which are designed to help guests unlock important sleep routines and enjoy a restful, rejuvenating sleep.

Sleep tourism to improve physical and emotional health
Sleep-focused travel is gaining popularity as people realize the benefits of rejuvenating their sleep. Sleep-focused travel experiences can be beneficial for both physical and mental health.

When considering travel for sleep, it is important to include a medical expert in the planning process. The goal is to have a vacation that allows you to rest and recover from not just physical tiredness and make up for usual lost sleep, but also recuperate from deeper mental and emotional exhaustion.

Sleep-focused travel is not without its challenges. It is important to consider the cost of sleep disruptions before booking a trip. Typically, these disturbances are short-term in nature, but in some scenarios, the cost can quickly mount up.

Here we present five habits for healthy eyes- i.e. to maintain vision health.

Sleep: Sleep is very important in order to let our eyes get adequate amount of rest. Getting enough sleep also helps reduce dark under eye circles that many tend to struggle with. It is recommended for individuals to sleep a minimum of six hours, with the optimal sleeping period being a full 8 hours.

Eating Healthy: Consuming the right types of food, that deliver proper nutrients to your body, is essential for maintaining healthy eyesight. Healthy options for eyesight improvement include lots of vegetables, fruits, carrots and calcium. The best minerals for your eyes include vitamins A, B, C and E, as well as magnesium and zinc.

Taking short rest breaks: Take breaks from staring at computer screen or your mobile device. Staring at length tends to strain eyes. Ensure that you blink often, particularly during engaging activities. Rest your eyes by looking at something else every twenty minutes of focused activity. Cupping palms over closed eyes, also help to relax them.

Don't read in moving vehicles: Reading in moving vehicles is stressful on the eyes and can even hurt them. If you do need to read, try to blink often to reduce strain and look away from book/screen more often and focus on distant objects.

Keeping a good reading posture
: Awkward reading postures can lead to eye strain. Even at desk, make sure your computer monitor is situated such that you are slightly looking down to view the screen. Many people enjoy lying down in bed to read before going to sleep. Try to sit up with back support as opposed to lying down. If you wear reading glasses, make sure you are reading thru the proper calibrated lens area.
