14 Ways Stress Shows Up in One’s Body

​Stress is a part of our lives which happens due to daily tasks or other responsibilities, but it becomes worse when it exceeds the limit. You can deal with it only if you know that you are overstressed and there are many signs through which you can recognize it. However, some people get used to stress which is wrong because if uncontrolled it can cause several health issues; even death.

You should concentrate on you body so that you can see its signs, because constant and prolonged stress can cause malfunctioning of certain body organs. Though, stress appears in people in different ways but some general symptoms are described here.

The way we react to bad events causes stress which is normal, but if it gets uncontrolled it may harm your body. The given signs show that you are so much under stress, and are unable to cope with it. These symptoms are divided into three parts, including cognitive, emotional and physical stress, having different levels of danger.
Cognitive symptoms are brain related like,

  1. Lack of decision making
  2. Pessimism
  3. Memory issues.
  4. Excess of anxiety.
  5. Lack of ability to concentrate.

Emotional symptoms are related to our feelings, though normal, but if such feelings persist for long, and go beyond the limits, they can become big issues.

These include,
  1. Frequent and intense mood swings.
  2. Severe and constant depression.
  3. Constantly feeling annoyed.
  4. Severe anger.

Physical symptoms are related to certain disease that one can see appearing in the body. Doctors can easily recognize by looking at such signs that the patient is under lot of stress.

These include:
  1. Sleep disturbance or change of sleeping habits.
  2. Migraines or severe headache.
  3. Severe backache.
  4. Chest problems.
  5. Disturbance in GI i.e. gastrointestinal in which bowel does not function well and the patient gets constipation, IBS i.e. irritable bowel syndrome, anal fissures and hemorrhoids or even colon cancer.

If you don’t recognize physical signs of stress, it may lead to serious issues like heart attack, high cholesterol levels, diabetes, and high blood pressure, etc.

Stress can be treated in various ways, including breathing exercises, yoga, therapy and medications, but the best way is to improve your sleeping habits and have enough sleep.

Try to see which issue is causing stress, is it work related or personal, then try to find the solution, but if you think that circumstances cannot be changed then leave your problem to god and relax.
