Is there any evidence upholding the use of MT and are there any contradictions?
Many studies have been conducted on MT but the results are contradictory. Although contradictory results are natural because if any study is conducted on human being, results will always differ from person to person due to their biological dynamic nature. Around half of the people on whom study was conducted were in favor that MT really heals the wound and reduces pain but rest contradicted.
NCCAAM (national centre for complementary and alternative medicine) after reviewing the data stated that there is no scientific evidence supporting the use of magnets for relief of pain. In fact FDA does not allow marketing of MT products claiming health benefits and FDA with FTC has taken action against several makers claiming the same. For this very reason now a day’s sellers and makers specify the word ‘comfort’ and do not make medical claims.
But FDA contradicts itself by approving PEMF (pulsed electro- magnetic field) devices used for healing of bone fractures. Although PEMF is used in 20% cases only as it is not that popular. There are strong evidence that when magnets are placed on acupuncture points they resulted in low back pains, reduced diabetes, insomnia, fatigue, motion sickness and stress. MRIs (magnetic resonance imaging) have screened that sinus pain respond quickly to MT releasing relief within 30- 60 minutes. As per FDA magnets used in Magnetic Therapy are safe.
MT is accepted in Britain, Japan, China, India, Italy, Germany, Israel, France and around 40 more countries all over the world. Many government health systems recognize MT as cost- effective treatment with fast recovery option.
